Damien Hatfield, Director
Damien Hatfield has for nearly 20 years been a dominant figure in Australia’s hedge fund industry, actively promoting both Australian and international hedge funds to sophisticated institutional investors.
Damien has had many years experience in the hedge fund industry having commenced by structuring and marketing a capital guaranteed futures fund in 1988 while working for ANZ McCaughan Futures.
In 1992, Damien started at Bain Refco Commodities, an alternative asset business for Deutsche Bank, for which he raised funds from investors that were placed with Australian and international managers. Damien developed this business initially from Australia and then Hong Kong from 1997 to 1999 while working for Deutsche Securities. The business managed total assets exceeding A$1 billion.
In 2000, he assisted local hedge fund manager Basis Capital in establishing their distribution systems before joining Colonial First State in 2001 to head their hedge fund business, where he learnt the intricacies of retail and institutional distribution, in particular the use of platforms for financial planner distribution. In 2003, Damien co-founded Pengana Capital’s hedge fund incubation and seeding business, where he helped raise an initial A$30 million for the Pengana ASX listing. In addition, he raised over A$200 million for the Pengana Absolute Return Real Estate Fund and the Wallace Australia Opportunities Fund.
Damien’s strengths include his wide industry contact list and his knowledge of domestic and international hedge fund investors. His special interests are identifying global trends and being ahead of the curve in terms of new investment opportunities and strategies.
Damien is a respected identity on the hedge fund conference circuit and is renowned for his tireless support of the Australian hedge fund industry. He was the founding chairman of the Australian Chapter of the Alternative Investment Management Association and was the first recipient of the Australian Hedge Fund Industry Contribution Award in 2005.

Formerly known as Hatfield Advisors, we joint ventured with Triple A Partners in December 2009. Triple A Partners have offices in Hong Kong, NY, Los Angeles and London, offering a strong global distribution network and world-class service standards.
Triple A Partners Australia represent hedge funds into Australia, our main clients being Australian Superannuation Funds and Family Offices. We also represent Australian hedge funds to offshore investors via our global network.
Our objective is to be the hub of Australian alternative investment knowledge. We provide research and advisory on hedge funds and produce The Australian Hedge monthly newsletter. We also compile the hedge fund survey which is published monthly in Investment Magazine.
Rick Bernie, Head of Distribution
Rick was most recently Head of Distribution for Basis Capital. Over the 7 years, Rick headed a team which built $1.2 billion of assets across multiple funds. Previously Rick was Head of Distribution for Derivatives Fund Management. Prior to Derivatives Rick worked for Tower Life and HSBC.
David Adiseshan, Distribution
David joined Triple A Partners Australia in March 2009 and brings 20 years institutional funds management experience across a variety of asset classes including alternatives. David has held senior institutional sales and distribution roles with organisations including UBS, Massachusetts Financial Services, and Rothschild. Most recently he has originated new funds and funds management activities for the structured finance division an investment bank and a private family office
